Job summary

Nuffield Health is seeking an excellent communicator and skilled sonographer to join our Radiology team on an ad-hoc bank basis at Oxford Hospital. The role involves delivering high-quality ultrasound imaging and reporting for a varied caseload, with a primary focus on Gynaecology.

The successful candidate will hold a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (HCPC registered) and a post-graduate ultrasound qualification, with post-registration ultrasound experience and QA programme experience.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent meeting HCPC registration requirements.
• Post-graduate diploma/DHU in Medical Ultrasound.
• Post-registration experience in general ultrasound imaging and reporting including Gynae pelvis scanning.
• Experience managing an ultrasound quality assurance programme (advantage).
• Excellent communication and IT skills with a strong team-working ability.
• Ability to work independently on a bank basis with no fixed pattern of hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality ultrasound imaging and reporting for a varied caseload within the department and on the ward as required.
• Work quickly and accurately while maintaining technical excellence.
• Provide cover during periods of sickness, holidays or increased workload.
• Maintain an ultrasound quality assurance programme and ensure compliance with HCPC standards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care.

Education
