Main duties of the job

• Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations using analytical and judgment skills to interpret complex images.
• Formulate comprehensive, diagnostic, independently written reports for each examination.
• Communicate distressing and unwelcome/unexpected news directly to patients with tact, empathy, and diplomacy.
• Communicate complex diagnosis and treatment information to clinicians and patients.
• Maintain personal clinical expertise in ultrasound scanning, including ongoing CPD.
• Review, update, and maintain patient clinical records.
• Participate in teaching students and clinicians in ultrasound; assist in vetting ultrasound requests.
• Handle conflicting demands from different staff groups at all levels.
• Have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work under high workload pressure.
