Job summary

Goldenkeys invites a passionate Sommelier to join its Michelin-starred restaurant housed in a luxury country house hotel in Cumbria. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the team delivers exceptional wine service and carefully crafted pairings as part of a celebrated dining experience.

In this role you will guide guests through the wine list, recommend wines to complement menus, and support the development of an ambitious wine programme aimed at AA Notable recognition.

Qualifications

• Has previous Sommelier experience within fine dining or luxury hospitality.
• Has excellent wine knowledge and a genuine passion for the industry.
• Is confident recommending wines and engaging with guests.
• Understands the attention to detail expected within a Michelin-starred environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivering knowledgeable and engaging wine service throughout the restaurant.
• Guiding guests through the wine list and recommending wines to complement their experience.
• Supporting wine pairings for the restaurant’s Michelin-starred menus.
• Helping to develop and maintain the wine list.
• Supporting the restaurant as it works towards an AA Notable Wine List Award.

We’re looking for a passionate Sommelier to join the team at a beautiful luxury country house hotel in Cumbria. Surrounded by picturesque countryside, the hotel is home to an exceptional Michelin-starred restaurant where seasonal food, thoughtful wine pairings and genuinely memorable service are at the heart of the experience.

Wine is a big part of what makes the restaurant special, and the team has exciting ambitions to develop the offering even further, including working towards an AA Notable Wine List award. This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable Sommelier who wants to play an active role in that journey while working alongside a talented fine dining team.
