Job summary

The Wright Brothers Covent Garden is opening a new wine-focused role and seeks a knowledgeable Sommelier to shape our wine programme from day one. You’ll guide guests through curated pairings, lead confident wine service and collaborate with the kitchen to elevate seafood pairings.

Expect to develop the wine list, manage stock and margins, and share your passion with a friendly, guest-centered team in a premium, hospitality-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience as a Sommelier or wine-focused role in premium dining.
• Strong knowledge of international wines and wine service.
• Interest in seafood-driven menus and paired wine experiences.
• Ability to connect with guests and make recommendations feel personal.
• Commercial awareness: wine sales, stock control and margins.
• Confident, engaging service and willingness to share knowledge with the team.
• Collaborative, detail-oriented approach with hospitality passion.
• WSET 3 or equivalent knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Guide guests through the wine list with confident, personalised recommendations.
• Deliver polished wine service that is welcoming and approachable.
• Share knowledge of regions, vintages and pairings, especially seafood-focused.
• Collaborate with kitchen and FOH to create thoughtful pairings.
• Support purchasing, stock control and margin management of the wine programme.
• Build relationships with producers and suppliers and stay curious about trends.
• Contribute ideas to evolve the wine list and educate the wider team.
• Develop others by sharing knowledge and improving team confidence.
