Job summary

Focus Group is seeking a Solutions Engineer (networking) to design, deploy, and troubleshoot enterprise networking solutions for a diverse client base across the UK. You will lead network-focused projects, produce technical documentation, and support both customers and engineers while visiting sites 3–4 days weekly.

The role requires expertise in VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, and wireless design (Meraki, Cisco, Fortinet), plus a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Networking knowledge: VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, wireless design.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor colleagues.
• Valid UK driving licence.

At Focus Group, we're looking for a Solutions Engineer (networking) who will be responsible for designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and leading the delivery of enterprise networking solutions (including SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, firewalls, wireless and SASE), while acting as a technical expert, managing network-focused projects, producing technical documentation, and supporting both customers and engineers.

This is a home & customer site based role with real variety: you'll be out visiting customers 3-4 days a week, from small businesses through to enterprise sites, so you'll need to enjoy being on the road and with customers as much as behind a screen.

Compensation: £53,000 - £55,000 / year

Key skills, knowledge and expertise

• Proven experience in an IT support and delivery role - ideally within an MSP setting
• Specialist knowledge in- Networking: VLANs, routing and switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN, and wireless design and deployment (Meraki, Cisco, Fortinet)
• The confidence to lead projects and mentor colleagues
• A full, valid UK driving licence
