Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to deliver installation, configuration and maintenance of customer infrastructure including SD-WAN, switching, firewalls and wireless.

You will act as an escalation point for complex faults, design and migrate enterprise network solutions, lead network projects, and contribute to cloud migrations and security implementations. A full UK driving licence is required.

• Experience with PowerShell or Azure Automation (nice to have).
• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management principles (nice to have).
• Experience with IT Glue, Hudu or similar documentation platforms (nice to have).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage enterprise network solutions including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VLANs, firewalls and secure wireless.
• Lead networking projects such as refreshes, rollouts, firewall deployments and wireless deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across networking estates.
• Mentor and support engineers on complex project deliveries and escalations.
• Stay current with industry developments, vendor certifications and best practices.
• Collaborate with account management, pre-sales and service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Job description

• Deliver installation, configuration and maintenance of customer infrastructure, including SD-WAN, switching, firewalls, wireless, SSE/SASE and other network devices
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical faults
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced infrastructure issues across networking estates
• Design, implement and migrate enterprise network solutions including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VLANs, firewalls and secure wireless
• Lead networking projects such as network refreshes, LAN/WAN and SD-WAN rollouts, firewall deployments and wireless deployments
• Contribute to cloud migrations, infrastructure deployments and security implementations
• Manage technical workstreams within larger programmes and coordinate with project managers, consultants and third-party vendors
• Attend customer calls for technical scoping, solution design and implementation planning
• Undertake and document site surveys, technical audits and readiness assessments
• Support new customer onboarding and technology transitions, ensuring smooth handover to service operations
• Audit and document client infrastructure and maintain configuration records
• Develop best-practice documentation, knowledge base articles and technical runbooks
• Provide solution designs and technical proposals
