Job summary

Civil Aviation Authority is seeking a Solutions Architect at Gatwick to translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure architectures. You will partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape roadmaps and ensure delivery aligns with EA standards and cloud strategies.

Implicated responsibilities include designing end-to-end architectures, promoting reuse, and guiding agile teams through architecture decisions while staying aware of emerging tech and security

Qualifications

• Broad architectural knowledge across multiple domains, including solution, cloud and enterprise architecture.
• Experience translating requirements into pragmatic, secure and supportable designs.
• Experience in waterfall, agile, product-centric or service-oriented delivery.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to influence without direct authority.
• Understanding of governance and assurance and proportional application in delivery.
• Experience with Azure, Entra ID, Dynamics 365 CRM, Power Platform and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps and CI/CD concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
• Experience with business capability modelling or value stream mapping.
• TOGAF certification or practical enterprise architecture experience.
• Experience with EA tools like iServer or equivalents.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for source control and backlog management.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures aligned with business goals and standards.
• Act as architecture partner for business areas; shape roadmaps with stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet security, accessibility and service standards.
• Promote platform reuse to reduce duplication and risk.
• Participate in architecture governance and reviews.
• Provide technical leadership within agile product teams.
• Produce architecture artefacts and diagrams using EA tooling.
• Manage technical risks and document key decisions.
• Keep abreast of cloud tech and industry trends for CAA needs.
• Design integration patterns, APIs and cloud-native approaches.
