Qualifications

• Significant experience in software or enterprise architecture at senior level.

Enterprise Software Architect / Head of Software Architecture

Location: Bromley, Kent (Hybrid Working Available - 2 days from home)
Salary: £110,000 to £135,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits

We're partnering with a market-leading software organisation that's transforming the insurance and financial services sector through cutting-edge digital solutions. As part of continued growth and innovation, they're looking to appoint an experienced Enterprise Software Architect to help define and drive the long-term technical vision of the business.

This is a highly influential position, sitting at the intersection of technology strategy and delivery. You'll be responsible for shaping enterprise-wide architecture, leading major transformation programmes, and ensuring technology platforms remain secure, scalable and fit for future growth.

What You'll Be Doing

• Defining and owning enterprise-wide software architecture strategy
• Leading large-scale cloud, SaaS and digital transformation programmes
• Driving adoption of modern architecture principles including microservices and API-first development
• Influencing senior stakeholders on technology direction and investment
• Providing architectural governance across multiple products and platforms
• Evaluating emerging technologies including AI/ML solutions
• Creating architecture standards, roadmaps and best practices
• Supporting engineering teams with complex technical decision making
• Ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable, resilient and high-performing
• Working closely with business leaders to align technology strategy with organisational goals

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience in Software Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or Principal Architecture positions
• Strong cloud experience across Azure, AWS and/or GCP
• Proven experience delivering SaaS and cloud transformation programmes
• Deep understanding of Microservices Architecture and distributed systems
• Strong API design and integration experience
• Experience with modern software engineering practices and DevOps principles
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at executive level
• Knowledge of AI technologies and their practical application within enterprise environments
• Background designing large-scale, complex software platforms

Desirable

• Financial Services, FinTech, Wealth Management or Insurance experience
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certifications
• Experience within highly regulated environments
