The ideal candidate has around 3 years PQE, enjoys client-facing work, and can draft Wills and LPAs.

Solicitor – Private Client – Estate Administration (Wealth Management Team) – Devon – 3 Years PQE

Location: Teignmouth (Fully office based)

Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (36.25 hours per week)

Salary: £38,000 to £50,000 (DOE)

A respected and well established law firm is seeking a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with around 3 years’ post qualification experience to join its successful Estate Administration team in Teignmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys estate administration work and is looking to build a long term career within a supportive, community focused Wealth Management team.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of taxable and non taxable estates, acting for executors, trustees and beneficiaries throughout all stages of the administration process. Your work will include:

  • Managing your own estate administration caseload with appropriate supervision
  • Handling all aspects of estate administration, including inheritance tax reporting, grants of representation, estate accounts and distributions
  • Drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Meeting clients in the office and at their homes when appropriate
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider Wealth Management team on succession planning, trusts and tax matters
  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate
  • Contributing to the team’s strong reputation within the local community

What You’ll Have

Ideally, you will have around 3 years’ post qualification experience in estate administration, although candidates with slightly more or less experience will be considered.

  • A Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
  • Experienced in administering estates from start to finish
  • Comfortable dealing with both taxable and non taxable estates
  • Able to draft Wills and LPAs
  • Commercially minded and committed to excellent client service
  • Capable of managing a caseload effectively and meeting deadlines
  • A confident communicator with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team
  • In possession of a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for client visits
