Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking an experienced Solicitor specialising in Planning and Highway law to join the Legal Services team in Yate. The role involves delivering high-level legal expertise and providing representation in tribunals and courts.

As part of the Place Team, the postholder will advise on complex cases, support committee processes, and work with multi-disciplinary colleagues to ensure robust, compliant decision-making.

Our client South Gloucestershire Council are seeking an experienced Solicitor specialising in Planning and Highway law to join their dynamic Legal Services team at Badminton Road Council Offices in Yate. About the Role:

As a Solicitor in the Place Team, the postholder will be responsible for delivering high-level legal expertise in complex cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing proactive, solutions-based legal advice on matters related to planning, highways, property, housing, and more.
• Representing the Council at tribunals, inquiries, and courts.
• Advising during committee meetings and panels to ensure compliance and effective decision-making.
