Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Do you enjoy supervising junior lawyers as well as managing an interesting and challenging caseload?
We are seeking an experienced housing litigation Solicitor or FCILEx to join our well-respected and fast-paced housing management team.
A position has arisen in the Housing Management side of our team where our clients enjoy working closely with their lawyers as they resolve disputes. This team handles matters related to managing our client’s housing stock and tenants’ conduct, including disrepair claims, anti-social behaviour injunctions, breach of tenancy injunctions, possession claims, property and land disputes such as adverse possession and boundary disputes, and leasehold disputes.
Members of the team regularly appear before County Courts and the Property Tribunal.
You will be expected to conduct your own advocacy (at least through directions and case management hearings) and provide ad hoc advice to our clients.
There will also be direct client contact outside of case management, including delivering targeted training to clients, providing information through newsletters, and managing client relationships.
You will have 5+ years of litigation experience and a practical, proactive approach. Effective communication skills are essential to ensure clients are well-informed. Supervising junior team members will also be part of your role.
Initially, you will be office-based in Exeter to familiarize yourself with the team, our work, and the support available. While we are open to discussing hybrid working arrangements, the role requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, along with other commitments such as Court attendance.
Experience in a similar sector will be advantageous.
