Job summary

Howes Percival LLP in Cambridge invites applications for a Solicitor Apprentice role. You will provide high quality legal services under supervision while gaining competency to practice as a solicitor.

Responsibilities include legal research, drafting documents, supporting live client matters, attending meetings, and developing commercial awareness. Interviews May-June 2027.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for Solicitor Apprentices to join our offices at Howes Percival.

A Solicitor Apprentice is responsible for providing high quality legal services to clients of Howes Percival LLP whilst gaining competency to practice as a Solicitor in a supported environment. Solicitor Apprentices should undertake an appropriate caseload of straightforward under close supervision.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

• Carry out legal research to help our lawyers advise clients on a range of legal issues.
• Draft legal documents and correspondence, including client letters, attendance notes and other documents, with support and guidance from your team.
• Support live client matters by reviewing files, preparing summaries and helping to identify key dates and actions.
• Attend client meetings, helping with preparation, taking notes and following up on agreed actions.
• Develop your commercial awareness by learning about our clients, their businesses and the sectors in which they operate.
• Help manage matters effectively by organising documents, monitoring deadlines and keeping information up to date.
• To implement tasks as delegated and report back promptly to your supervisor;
• To undertake any other reasonable duties as required
