Job summary

Regional Recruitment is seeking an experienced O&M Engineer to service and optimise solar energy systems across sites in the Midlands. The role is hands-on, on-site with remote support for asset performance and maintenance activities.

Ideal candidates have experience in O&M or renewables, strong fault-finding skills, and a full UK driving licence. Hybrid working, company van, and progression opportunities are offered.

O&M Engineer - Solar / Renewables

Midlands Based | £45,000+ DOE | Company Van + Fuel Card

Permanent, Full-Time | Hybrid

We're currently recruiting for an experienced O&M Engineer to join an established business operating within the solar and renewable energy sector.

This is a hands-on role involving the maintenance, troubleshooting and optimisation of solar energy systems across a range of sites. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on-site, while also supporting wider maintenance and asset performance activities remotely.

What's involved?

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on solar energy systems
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and technical faults
• Supporting the ongoing performance and reliability of solar assets
• Carrying out electrical maintenance and engineering tasks
• Working with clients and internal teams to resolve technical issues
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with relevant standards
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Supporting long-term asset optimisation and performance improvements
• Travelling to solar park sites across the Midlands and surrounding areas

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in O&M, electrical engineering or renewable energy
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Good understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems
• Experience with preventative maintenance and maintenance management
• 17th or 18th Edition
• 2391 or equivalent would be advantageous
• Renewable energy qualifications/experience would be beneficial
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites

Location
