Job summary

Valoris Group is seeking an experienced Technical Design & Project Manager to lead commercial solar PV installations across the UK. You will oversee the full lifecycle from feasibility to handover, coordinating design, procurement and site activities.

The role combines technical design review, commercial management and client engagement, with DNO, planning and safety responsibilities. Hybrid working across office and sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial solar PV installations in the UK.
• Strong knowledge of PV design, installation and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with DNO applications (G98/G99/G100).
• Understanding of UK planning requirements for solar projects.
• Proficiency with PV design/proposal software (PV*SOL, OpenSolar or similar).
• Experience using PM systems and maintaining project docs.
• Knowledge of insurance, warranty and fire safety impacting solar installs.
• Solid commercial awareness including budgets, variations and margins.
• Confident in client-facing communication and stakeholder management.
• Hold a Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial solar PV installations from pre-construction through to completion.
• Coordinate programmes, installation teams, subcontractors, procurement and site activity.
• Control project budgets, variations, costs and margins.
• Define technical design requirements including system sizing and layout.
• Review PV designs and yield models for buildability and performance.
• Ensure installations comply with BS 7671 and IET Code of Practice.
• Manage the DNO process (G98/G99/G100) applications and related testing.
• Oversee planning and permitted development considerations.
• Coordinate structural engineers and planning consultants.
• Ensure compliance with insurer, funder and warranty requirements.
• Support sales with site surveys, budgets and tenders.
• Identify opportunities in battery storage, EV charging and O&M services.
• Take ownership of site health and safety (CDM 2015) RAMS and inspections.
• Manage commissioning and handover documentation.
• Maintain clear client communication and progress updates.
