Job summary

Valoris Group Limited is seeking a Technical Design & Project Manager to oversee the delivery of commercial solar PV installations across the UK. You will manage projects from feasibility and design through to installation, commissioning and handover, balancing technical review with commercial oversight.

The role requires DNO applications, planning compliance, subcontractor and budget management, plus client engagement. Hybrid work across the Duxford office, home and project sites is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering commercial solar PV installations in the UK (portfolio management).
• Experience managing DNO/G98/G99/G100 processes and planning requirements.
• Knowledge of PV design, installation and commissioning.
• Familiarity with PV design and proposal software such as PV*SOL or OpenSolar.
• Experience using project management systems and maintaining accurate project documentation.
• Understanding of insurance, warranty and fire safety requirements for solar installations.
• Strong commercial awareness including budget, variation and margins.
• Confident client-facing communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial solar PV installations from pre-construction to completion.
• Coordinate programmes, installation teams, subcontractors, procurement and site activity.
• Control project budgets, variations, costs and margins.
• Define technical design requirements including sizing, layout and access.
• Review PV designs and yield models for buildability and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and IET Code for Grid-Connected PV Systems.
• Manage the complete DNO process and related applications.
• Oversee planning applications and conditions, engage with planning consultants.
• Coordinate structural engineers and other technical specialists.
• Ensure projects meet insurer, funder and warranty requirements.
• Support sales with site surveys, feasibility, budgets and tenders.
• Identify opportunities in battery storage and EV charging.
• Take ownership of CDM 2015 responsibilities, RAMS, and site inspections.
• Manage commissioning, QA and handover documentation.
• Maintain regular progress updates with clients.
