Job summary

Cobalt Recruitment is seeking an experienced Solar PV Project Manager to deliver commercial rooftop solar PV, BESS and EV charging programmes across the UK. You will oversee multiple projects from site assessment to handover, coordinating clients, contractors, DNOs and internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong end-to-end project delivery, subcontractor management, and robust health and safety oversight.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering commercial rooftop solar PV projects end-to-end.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery for rooftop solar PV, EV/BESS optional.
• Experience with budgets, subcontractors and variations.
• Familiarity with CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements.
• SMSTS/SSSTS or similar advantageous.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Solar PV Project Manager to join a fast-growing business delivering commercial rooftop renewable energy projects across the UK.

This is a senior delivery role with responsibility for managing commercial solar PV, battery storage and EV charging projects from initial site assessment through to commissioning and handover.

You’ll oversee multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating clients, contractors, DNOs and internal teams to ensure successful delivery on time, within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing multiple commercial rooftop solar PV projects simultaneously.
• Delivering commercial rooftop solar PV installations typically ranging from 50kWp–500kWp.
• Managing projects from DNO applications and site mobilisation through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, clients and wider project stakeholders.
• Managing project budgets, contracts, variations, programmes and commercial performance.
• Overseeing Health & Safety and ensuring compliance with CDM 2015.
• Providing clear project reporting and proactively managing risks and delivery challenges.
• Supporting the delivery of Solar PV, BESS and EV charging programmes.
• Ensuring projects achieve strong technical performance and client outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced Solar PV Project Manager with a strong background in commercial rooftop solar PV, EV, BESS or energy infrastructure.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Proven experience managing multiple commercial-scale rooftop solar PV installations concurrently.
• Strong end-to-end knowledge of commercial rooftop solar PV project delivery.
• Experience with DNO applications, construction and commissioning.
• Strong commercial and contract management experience.
• Experience managing budgets, subcontractors and project variations.Good knowledge of CDM 2015 and Health & Safety requirements.
• SMSTS/SSSTS or similar would be advantageous.
• Excellent client and stakeholder management skills.
• Exposure to BESS and/or EV charging projects would be beneficial.
