Job summary

MarkMay is seeking a Solar PV & Renewable Energy Engineer to service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems across London and the South East. The role involves managing servicing schedules, supporting heat pump systems, and ensuring efficient, compliant operation within social housing projects.

Ideal candidates hold Level 3 electrical qualifications and the 18th Edition, with a valid UK driving licence and experience in social housing being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 electrical qualifications including AM2.
• Must have Level 3 Solar PV Installer qualification.
• 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems across London and the South East.
• Conduct site assessments and audits to improve system efficiency.
• Diagnose faults and provide prompt resolutions with minimal disruption.
• Advise customers on operation and maintenance of systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system improvements.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and produce technical reports.

About the Role

Are you an experienced renewable energy engineer passionate about sustainable technology? We are seeking a skilled Solar PV & Renewable Energy Engineer to service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems across London and the South East. You will manage Solar PV servicing schedules and support the maintenance of air source and ground source heat pumps, MVHR and EAHP systems, helping deliver efficient, reliable and sustainable energy solutions within the social housing sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems, ensuring safety and optimum performance.
• Conduct site assessments and audits, identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults promptly, minimising disruption for customers.
• Provide customers with guidance on system operation and maintenance.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to develop system improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and produce technical reports.

Essential Requirements

• Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BPEC or equivalent electrical qualification, including AM2.
• Level 3 Solar PV Installer qualification.
• 18th Edition qualification.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Experience in social housing is desirable. Knowledge of heat pumps, district heating, hybrid renewable systems, domestic hot water and low-temperature heating is advantageous. Strong communication, troubleshooting and report-writing skills are essential.
