Job summary

NRT Building Services Group in London is seeking a skilled PV Engineer to install, commission, service and maintain Solar PV systems across residential and small commercial sites in London and the Home Counties.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Solar PV installations, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in the field while keeping safety at the forefront. A full UK driving licence is essential, and MCS certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing and maintaining Solar PV systems.
• Strong electrical knowledge and fault-finding ability.
• Experience working on residential and/or small commercial projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good customer-facing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install Solar PV systems including roof-mounted and ground-mounted arrays.
• Carry out commissioning, testing, and system handovers.
• Diagnose and repair faults on existing PV systems.
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance visits.
• Ensure compliance with current regulations (BS 7671, MCS, DNO requirements).
• Complete electrical and installation documentation accurately.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site managers, and internal teams.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle to a high standard.
• Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all times.

Salary: £38,000–£45,000 per annum (DOE)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced PV Engineer to install, commission, service, and maintain Solar PV systems across residential and small commercial sites in London and the Home Counties. The successful candidate will be technically competent, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Install Solar PV systems including roof-mounted and ground-mounted arrays
• Carry out commissioning, testing, and system handovers
• Diagnose and repair faults on existing PV systems
• Perform planned and reactive maintenance visits
• Ensure all work complies with current regulations (BS 7671, MCS, DNO requirements)
• Complete electrical and installation documentation accurately
