Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an Electrician – Solar PV to join a UK-wide provider of compliance, energy efficiency and renewable energy services. The role focuses on servicing Solar PV systems and maintaining other renewables, including heat pumps and MVHR systems, within social housing environments.

You will perform site assessments, troubleshoot issues, and provide client training while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across diverse housing projects.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/City & Guilds/BPEC electrical qualification, including AM2.
• Level 3 Solar PV Installer Qualification (essential).
• 18th Edition qualification (essential).
• Full, valid UK driving licence (essential).
• Experience within social housing (desirable).
• Experience with heat pumps, district heating or hybrid renewables.
• Strong understanding of domestic hot water and low-temperature heating systems.
• Strong technical report-writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair renewable energy systems, ensuring safety.
• Conduct site assessments and audits to evaluate system efficiency and recommend improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime for clients.
• Provide training and support to clients on the operation and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative solutions for system enhancements.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing Solar PV systems, with additional responsibilities for the maintenance and repair of renewable energy systems, including Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP), Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and Exhaust Air Heat Pumps (EAHP).

This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to providing exceptional service to clients.
