Job summary

Astute People is recruiting a Solar O&M Technician to support utility-scale solar PV sites across the UK. The role reports to the O&M Manager and involves preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and site inspections.

The ideal candidate will hold NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical installation, 18th Edition, and have experience with solar PV systems. A company vehicle and ongoing training are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites.
Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems and electrical equipment.
Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise site downtime.
Complete scheduled inspections and ensure sites remain compliant with health and safety standards.
Produce accurate maintenance reports and record all completed work.
Identify opportunities to improve system performance and site reliability.
Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV installations.
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
