Job summary

Astute's Renewables Team is recruiting a Solar O&M Technician to support sites across the UK. The role offers a competitive salary, a company vehicle, and ongoing training and development opportunities as part of a nationwide service for utility-scale solar assets.

The successful candidate will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and respond to reactive calls across multiple solar PV sites, ensuring safety standards and reliable operation of assets nationwide.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations required
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be advantageous
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or commissioning electrical systems

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites
• Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems and associated electrical equipment
• Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise downtime
• Complete scheduled inspections and ensure health and safety compliance
• Produce maintenance reports and record completed work
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and reliability
• Assist with commissioning of new solar PV installations
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies
• Other duties as required

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy business specialising in utility-scale solar PV to recruit a Solar O&M Technician to support sites across the UK.

Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Control Centre Team Lead role

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites
• Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems, electrical equipment and associated infrastructure
• Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise site downtime
• Complete scheduled inspections and ensure sites remain compliant with health and safety standards
• Produce accurate maintenance reports and record all completed work
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and site reliability
• Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV installations
• Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
• Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be advantageous
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or commissioning electrical systems
• Previous experience within utility-scale or commercial solar PV would be beneficial
