Job summary

Net Zero Careers Accelerator is seeking a Renewable Energy Operative (Solar Installer / Roof Labourer) in Haslemere, England. This hands-on role involves joining a growing solar installation team delivering domestic and commercial PV projects.

You will work alongside experienced installers, receive full training, and have excellent long-term career prospects with potential progression to team leadership. The position offers full-time, permanent employment with a typical 8:00am–4:00/5:00pm

Qualifications

• Must be able to work safely at height using scaffolding, ladders, IPAF and rope access systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
• Carry out groundwork to support solar and electrical installations.
• Install cable containment and run electrical cabling.
• Load and prepare equipment and company vehicles for daily works.
• Drive company vehicles to and from project sites.
• Operate powered equipment, including IPAF equipment where required.
• Install solar skirts and bird protection systems.
• Complete risk assessments and follow safe systems of work.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Complete job documentation and sign-off paperwork accurately.
• Ensure compliance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations, MCS standards, and Building Regulations.
• Keep work sites, vehicles, and company premises clean, organised, and safe

Location: Petersfield (Hazelmere)
Salary: Circa £26,000 per annum (London Living Wage equivalent), increasing with responsibility
Hours: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00am - 4:00/5:00pm)

For the right individual, there is genuine progression available, with the opportunity to develop into a Team Leader and manage your own installation team within a few years.
