Astute's Renewables team is partnered with an internationally recognised, utility scale solar developer and operator. We are looking to recruit a Solar Field Service Engineer to join their growing operations and maintenance team in East Anglia and the surrounding areas.

Role Overview

The strategically important Solar Field Service Technician role offers a basic salary up to £40,000 (higher for HVAPs), on-call rota enhanced pay (1 weekend in 5), own van and fuel cards, private health insurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and more.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Reporting to the Area Supervisor, you will:
2. Take primary responsibility for solar plant performance, site optimisation, and equipment availability.
3. Perform pre-planned and reactive maintenance across solar farms, including electrical maintenance, solar panel cleaning, and HV maintenance (if HV qualified).
4. Help resolve work tickets, report issues to your line manager, and compile reports of completed works.
5. Liaise with internal and external teams, including in-house LV/HV personnel, the grounds team, and external subcontractors when required.
6. Provide mentoring and training to junior technicians where required.
