Job summary

Astute's Renewable Team is partnering with a global energy services provider to recruit a Solar Farm Technician for its Yeovil-area solar farms. This permanent on-site role involves travel to multiple sites and occasional weekend call-outs with extra pay.

Salary £35,000–£45,000, private healthcare, life assurance, a company van, mobile, laptop, and PPE, plus ongoing training and career progression. Essential: Level 3 electrical qualification and ECS card; experience on utility-scale solar

Qualifications

• Experience on utility-scale solar projects.
• Level 3 electrical qualification.
• ECS card.
• 2391 Test & Inspection desirable.
• HV Authorised Person (AP) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of ground-mounted solar assets.
• Test and inspect electrical systems, identifying faults and carrying out repairs where possible.
• Liaise with specialist equipment suppliers to troubleshoot technical issues on site.
• Complete daily reports detailing work carried out and site activities.
• Perform fault finding on both AC and DC systems.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with current HSE legislation and company procedures.
• Supervise third-party contractors on site when required.
• Participate in an occasional weekend call-out rota, with additional payment.
• Undertake occasional travel and overnight stays as required.

Astute's Renewable Team is partnering with a global energy service provider, specializing in operation & maintenance for renewable technology to recruit a Solar Farm Technician for its portfolio of solar farms around the Yeovil area.

This permanent role is fully on site and will require travel a variety of solar sites, and offers a base salary up to £45,000 plus private healthcare, life assurance, and performance related bonus'.

Responsibilities of the Solar Farm Technician

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of ground-mounted solar assets.
• Test and inspect electrical systems, identifying faults and carrying out repairs where possible.
• Liaise with specialist equipment suppliers to troubleshoot technical issues on site.
• Complete daily reports detailing work carried out and site activities.

• Ensure all work is completed in line with current HSE legislation and company procedures.

Required qualifications and experience

• Previous experience working on utility-scale solar projects.
• Level 3 electrical qualification.
• ECS card
• Good working knowledge of industry-standard testing equipment and electrical instruments.

Desirable experience

• 2391 Test & Inspection qualification is desirable.
• HV Authorised Person (AP) status is desirable.
