Job summary

Astute People is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for renewables-focused sites around Chelmsford. Join a utility-scale solar O&M partner and cover multiple sites with emphasis on planned inspections, maintenance and fault diagnosis. You'll report to the Head of Operations and travel between sites in a field-based role.

The role offers a salary between £30,000 and £36,000 DOE, a company van and tools. Overtime and on-call weekends on rota are included, with 25 days holiday and health and

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent.
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection.
• 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned inspection and maintenance per requirements; learn reactive maintenance and SOPs.
• Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
• Carry out site surveys as required.
• Prepare accurate documentation for stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Keep records of electrical testing, HV and safety documents for audit.
• Ensure output meets quality, reliability, cost and productivity targets.
• Comply with Health & Safety policy.

Job description

Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a utility scale solar O&ME company to recruit a Field Service Engineer for its sites in the Chelmsford and the surrounding areas.

This role comes with a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 DOE, company van and provides an excellent opportunity to move into the utility scale solar world.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will:

• Assisting with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements. Learning around reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and standard operating procedures
• Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
• Carrying out site surveys requests as required
• Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
• Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
• Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy

Professional qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection
• 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
• Ideally at least a year's experience from within in a maintenance work in either an industrial, commercial or even domestic capacity
• Full UK Licence

Personal skills

• Keen to get into renewables A real passion for renewable technologies such as solar PV, battery storage etc
• Happy to travel around to sites in a field-based role
