Job summary

Astute People's Renewables team seeks a Field Service Engineer for sites in Hampshire and Dorset. The role offers a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 DOE, plus a company van and career progression into the utility-scale solar sector.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will assist with planned maintenance, perform reactive fault diagnosis and contribute to site surveys and documentation for stakeholders. Travel is involved.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualifications or equivalent required.
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection certification desirable.
• 17th/18th edition wiring regulations required or preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planned inspection and maintenance per requirements.
• Perform reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis in a timely manner.
• Carry out site surveys and document results for stakeholders.
• Maintain records of electrical testing, HV and safety documents.
• Ensure work output meets quality, reliability and cost targets.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policy.

Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a utility scale solar O&M company to recruit a Field Service Engineer for its sites in the Hampshire and Dorset areas.

This role comes with a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 DOE, company van and provides an excellent opportunity to move into the utility scale solar world.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will:

• Assisting with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements. Learning around reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and standard operating procedures
• Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
• Carrying out site surveys requests as required
• Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
• Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
• Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection
• 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
• Ideally at least a year's experience from within in a maintenance work in either an industrial, commercial or even domestic capacity
• Full UK Licence

The Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who is:

• Keen to get into renewables A real passion for renewable technologies such as solar PV, battery storage etc
• Happy to travel around to sites in a field-based role
