Job summary

Astute is recruiting a Field Service Engineer for renewable energy sites in the Hampshire and Dorset area. You will work on planned inspections, electrical maintenance, fault diagnosis, and site surveys with a company van and tools provided. A full UK licence is required, with travel to multiple sites as part of a field-based role.

The role offers a salary of £30,000–£36,000 DOE, plus benefits and career progression into the utility-scale solar sector.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent.
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection.
• 17th/18th edition wiring regulations (preferably 17th/18th).
• At least 1 year of maintenance experience in industrial, commercial, or domestic settings.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements.
• Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner.
• Carrying out site surveys as required.
• Submitting accurate documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Keeping records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents for audit.

Astute's Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a utility scale solar O&M company to recruit a Field Service Engineer for its sites in the Hampshire and Dorset areas.

This role comes with a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 DOE, company van and provides an excellent opportunity to move into the utility scale solar world.

Responsibilities and duties

• Assisting with planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements. Learning around reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and standard operating procedures
• Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner
• Carrying out site surveys requests as required
• Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner
• Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit
• Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity
• Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy

Professional qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifications or equivalent
• C&G 2391 Testing and Inspection
• 17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
• Ideally at least a year's experience from within in a maintenance work in either an industrial, commercial or even domestic capacity
• Full UK Licence

Personal skills

• Keen to get into renewables A real passion for renewable technologies such as solar PV, battery storage etc
• Happy to travel around to sites in a field-based role
