Job summary

Astute People are partnering with a leading renewables business to recruit a Solar O&M Technician based in Leeds to support sites across the UK.

The role offers a competitive salary, a company vehicle, ongoing training and development, and the chance to work on utility-scale solar assets nationwide. Reporting to the O&M Manager, you will perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or related discipline.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification (advantageous).
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or commissioning electrical systems.
• Experience with utility-scale or commercial solar PV is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites.
• Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems and electrical equipment.
• Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise site downtime.
• Complete scheduled inspections and ensure sites comply with health and safety standards.
• Produce accurate maintenance reports and record all completed work.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and site reliability.
• Assist with commissioning of new solar PV installations.
• Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy business specialising in utility-scale solar PV to recruit a Solar O&M Technician based in the Leeds/ North Yorkshire regions to support sites across the UK.

The Solar O&M Technician role comes with a competitive salary, company vehicle, training and development opportunities, and the chance to work on utility-scale solar assets nationwide.

Responsibilities and duties of the O&M Solar Technician role

Reporting to the O&M Manager you will:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites
• Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems, electrical equipment and associated infrastructure
• Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise site downtime
• Complete scheduled inspections and ensure sites remain compliant with health and safety standards
• Produce accurate maintenance reports and record all completed work
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance and site reliability
• Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV installations
• Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
• Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be advantageous
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or commissioning electrical systems
• Previous experience within utility-scale or commercial solar PV would be beneficial
