Job summary

Carbon in Stevenage is seeking an experienced Software Testing Engineer to join a highly skilled team responsible for testing, validation and release of complex simulation software used within mission-critical environments. This onsite, 12-month contract pays £65 per hour inside IR35.

You will plan, execute and report testing activities, collaborate with developers and project leads in an Agile environment, and help ensure software releases meet functional, performance and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within Software Testing, Test Engineering or QA.
• Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts.
• Strong test automation experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong defect management and troubleshooting.
• Agile/Scrum experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test plans, procedures and test cases.
• Execute functional, integration, regression and qualification testing.
• Perform software defect investigation and root cause analysis.
• Analyse software logs and test data to identify issues.
• Support continuous testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Produce detailed test reports and provide regular progress updates.
• Support software release and certification activities.
• Work collaboratively with developers and project teams within an Agile environment.
• Contribute to the continual improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

They are seeking an experienced Software Testing Engineer to join a highly skilled team responsible for the testing, validation and release of complex simulation software used within mission-critical environments.

As a Software Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, executing and reporting on software testing activities, ensuring software releases meet functional, performance and quality requirements.

Working closely with software developers, project leads and stakeholders, you will play a key role in proving software functionality, investigating defects and supporting successful software releases.

Key Responsibilities
