Job Description
Have you delivered software products as a Systems Engineer? If so, this may be the role for you!
We are seeking dedicated Systems Engineers to bridge the gap between systems engineering and software development.
Our software products support deployed and in-development systems, including:
- Mission programming and analysis tools for self-protection systems used by RAF aircraft and export customers, including Typhoon and Apache.
- Development of next-generation tools providing capability to the Tempest Aircraft being developed under the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP) to replace Typhoon.
What you’ll do as a Systems Engineer
- Engage with stakeholders to define requirements for new systems
- Conduct cost and functional performance trade-offs and evaluate proposed solutions
- Enhance capabilities and performance of in-service systems
- Design and integrate new functionality into existing systems
- Design and conduct testing and trials to verify equipment function and performance
- Perform root-cause analysis of anomalies observed during integration or evaluation activities
- Lead technical activities and initiatives
- Mentor and coach other engineers
- Create and deliver reports, presentations, and proposals to customers and industry partners
- Support knowledge sharing and the exploitation of good practices
What we need from you
- A science, mathematics, or engineering-based degree, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in delivering software-heavy systems, ideally to customers in regulated industries (e.g., military, rail, safety-critical)
- Experience working with software teams using DevOps to deliver products
- Experience with MBSE methodologies
Desired experience
- Working with related specialisms such as safety, security, or reliability
- Digital signal processing
- RF systems
- Multi-sensor data fusion and tracking
- Real-time data simulation/generation
- Military electronic systems
- Data analysis using AI or Machine Learning
- Operational experience in Electronic Intelligence or Electronic Warfare
Due to the nature of our work, you must be capable of achieving a minimum of SC security clearance and may require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only. Please see the UK National Security Vetting site for more details.
This work requires on-site working at our facility in Luton.
