Role Overview

The Software Project Manager (Instrument SW) for the next-generation patient monitoring platform will oversee a global software engineering team using Agile methodologies to deliver an innovative patient monitoring system to the healthcare market.

This role involves managing software projects integrated into new patient monitor instruments, working closely with technical leads. It requires a strong understanding of managing software projects through Agile metrics and high interaction with teams and program leaders. Collaboration with hardware, quality, systems, and product management teams during development phases is essential.

The ideal candidate has experience managing software engineering projects, a track record of innovation, and the ability to work cross-functionally. Excellent communication skills with technical peers, customers, and leadership are required.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of medical device software development projects.
  • Coordinate tasks across internal and external resources, collaborating with the program management team.
  • Manage scope, schedule, resources, dependencies, and risks to ensure timely delivery.
  • Translate domain knowledge into detailed backlog features for development teams on a sprint basis.
  • Ensure software and product requirements are clear and actionable.
  • Manage documentation for the FDA and global regulatory compliance.
  • Follow a risk-based approach to project management, including design reviews and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Electrical, Regulatory, Systems, Operations, and Verification.
  • Assign, track, and follow-up on tasks, removing obstacles as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years in hardware and software product development from R&D to commercialization.
  • 3+ years managing Agile software projects.
  • 5+ years experience in object-oriented programming, preferably C++.
  • Experience with medical device development, regulatory standards (Design Control, ISO 14971, IEC 62304), and Agile tools like Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating international teams is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and good judgment.
