Job summary

Current is seeking an experienced Android Engineering Manager to lead a growing team in the fintech space. You will own planning, delivery, and architectural direction for mobile products while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and design teams.

You have 5+ years of native Android experience and 2+ years in management, with a strong focus on scalable architecture, Compose adoption, and end-to-end mobile delivery. Equity and a flexible vacation policy are part of the package.

Job description

• You will work to lead the delivery of key business initiatives, improve existing architecture and services, and design large-scale data-intensive applications. You will be hands-on (30% of the time), leading your team by example and defining the standards of engineering excellence
• Provide technical and people leadership to a team of Android engineers. Own team planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality features and platform improvements
• Conduct regular one-on-ones, deliver timely and constructive feedback, support career growth, and foster a team culture of inclusion, psychological safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Define team priorities, technical roadmaps, and long-term platform investments aligned to business goals. Establish clear technical direction in collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional partners
• Define and maintain standards for code quality, testing, performance, and security. Implement processes to enable greater development velocity without sacrificing technical quality
• Work closely with product managers, designers, QA, and backend teams to scope features, assess feasibility, align on priorities, and ensure the successful delivery of initiatives
• Deeply understand the product and user experience to make informed technical and architectural decisions that tie back to customer and business goals
• Contribute to the Android codebase, review pull requests, troubleshoot complex bugs, and help resolve architectural or project bottlenecks. Lead by example and serve as a mentor and unblocker for the team
