Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is recruiting software engineers to join the High Integrity Software team in Bath. You will work with a diverse team delivering safety-critical software across aerospace, defence, rail, automotive and energy sectors, ensuring projects meet customers’ high expectations.

You will shape technical strategy on bids, generate software requirements, lead architecture/design, development and testing, and collaborate with the safety team to provide evidence against standards.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the safety critical software development life cycle.
• Experience in requirements, development or test.
• Experience in aerospace/transport/defence/rail/automotive markets.
• Experience with ADA and SPARK.
• Experience applying standards such as 61508, 50128, 26262, DO-178, etc.
• Organised with good time management and prioritisation.
• Methodical, with attention to detail and logical reasoning.
• Degree in software engineering or related subject.
• Knowledge of static analysis techniques.

Capgemini Engineering is looking for a software engineers to join our High Integrity Software team. You will join a diverse team of excellent and experienced engineers who are committed to ensuring our projects meet our customers’ high expectations. Our team develops software for safety related and critical applications in the Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Automotive and Energy sectors, often related to critical national infrastructure.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Shaping technical strategy on bids and projects basing your approach on our standard life-cycle model, extensive quality management system and development toolset and techniques.
• Taking a lead in the generation of software requirements, architecture and design
• Taking a lead in the development of software and systems
• Taking a lead in the testing of software and systems
• Working with the safety team to provide evidence against the relevant standards

Your profile

• Strong knowledge of the whole safety critical software development life cycle.
• Expertise in either requirements, development or test.
• Experience in at least one of the following markets: aerospace, transport, defence, rail, automotive.
• Experience with Spark/Software Language ADA.
• Experience of applying relevant standards such as 61508, 50128, 26262, 00-55, ED-109, DO-178 etc.
• Organised, good time management and prioritisation
• Methodical approach to work, with good attention to details and strong logic and reasoning skill
• Degree qualified in software engineering or related/relevant subject.
• Experience in at least one of the following markets: aerospace, transport, defence, rail, automotive.
• Knowledge and experience in static analysis techniques
