Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop and improve scalable software for real-time, event‑driven platforms across Barclays’ digital ecosystem. You will work with Java, Spring and Kafka in a microservices environment, collaborating with product managers and designers to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires deep knowledge of AWS, OpenShift/Kubernetes, DevOps tooling and CI/CD, plus strong database skills with PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Spring, and Kafka in scalable microservices.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services and container platforms.
• Proficient with DevOps tooling and CI/CD automation.
• Experience with PostgreSQL relational data modelling.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and API platforms.
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration.
