Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop and enhance a scalable, event-driven platform that supports real-time integrations across Barclays' digital ecosystem. You will build high-quality software and work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment with business goals.

The role emphasizes secure coding, unit testing, and collaboration across disciplines, with London or Knutsford as possible locations.

Qualifications

Strong experience with Java, Spring, Kafka and microservice design.
Good understanding of AWS cloud services and OpenShift/Kubernetes.
Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling and CI/CD automation.
Knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational data modelling.
Exposure to event-driven patterns, or API platforms(Kafkapreferred).
Experience in writing IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation preferred).
Automation testing of the framework.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and strategies.
