Job summary

Brown & Brown UK is recruiting for a software engineer to work in a cross-functional squad in Borehamwood. You will contribute hands-on in building secure, reliable software with growing autonomy and collaborate across Product, Quality and engineering teams.

You will refine requirements, write automated tests, and participate in planning, stand-ups and reviews. The role emphasizes code quality, security, and continuous improvement in a shared, agile environment.

Qualifications

• Commercial development experience and practical capability.
• Understanding of testing, source control, CI/CD and secure coding.
• Interest in cloud engineering and Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborative communication style and pragmatic problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop front-end applications, APIs, services and integrations.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable and testable code.
• Refine requirements with Product, Quality and engineering teams.
• Create automated tests and contribute to quality in each change.
• Use Git, peer reviews and CI/CD pipelines to deploy safely.
• Participate in pairing, code reviews and collaborative problem solving.
• Own work through development, release and support with proactive help-seeking.
• Investigate defects and contribute to fixes and preventative improvements.
