Job Responsibilities

1. Work with the Product team to understand user needs and follow an Agile SDLC to develop and deliver product features. Our stack includes Java/Spring Boot with Kotlin, DynamoDB, Aurora/MySQL, and AWS.
2. Participate in designing the evolution of our architecture to meet our needs, using ADRs for decision-making. Our architecture is microservices on Kubernetes, heavily utilizing Kafka and event-driven design.
3. Take ownership of tasks from estimation through to release and post-production support.
4. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve existing or new prioritized defects.
5. Write tests for all code delivered, adhering to best practices and standards to ensure high-quality code.
6. Manage or assist with releases and related processes, aiming for frequent deployments.
7. Participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality and continuous learning.
8. Engage in knowledge sharing through skill sessions within the team and wider department.
9. Contribute to technical initiatives to improve and evolve the codebase and tools.
10. Focus on solving the core problem rather than just symptoms.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Proficiency in English; working with the London team.
2. Commercial experience in native iOS mobile application development.
3. Good knowledge of object-oriented programming with Swift and Xcode.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Experience writing unit tests using XCTest.
6. Knowledge of MVVM + Coordinator patterns and other architecture principles like SOLID.
7. Understanding of mobile design best practices, including human interface guidelines and threading.
8. Familiarity with core iOS libraries/frameworks (.UIKit, SwiftUI, Foundation, Security, Combine).
9. Experience with iOS app deployment processes.
10. Experience with CI/CD tools (Bitrise preferred but not required).
11. Monitoring and alerting experience to maintain production apps.
12. Understanding of REST APIs.
13. Experience with Git flow.
14. Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
15. Curiosity about new working methods and openness to ideas.
16. Proactive attitude and willingness to contribute ideas.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

1. Experience with UI testing frameworks like XCUITest.
2. Experience with Design Systems and white-labeling.
3. Knowledge of modularization and dependency injection.
4. Understanding of accessibility standards and security considerations in mobile apps.
5. Experience with React Native.
6. Familiarity with feature flagging and A/B testing.
7. Experience in the FinTech sector.
