KDB+ Developer | Financial Data Engineering

We’re working with a well-funded and fast-scaling consultancy that delivers high-performance data solutions to financial institutions across the UK and Europe. As part of their expansion, they’re looking to add an experienced KDB+ Developer to support strategic client projects in complex, time-critical environments.

This role suits someone who thrives on solving tough data problems, enjoys close collaboration with technical and business teams, and wants to work with high-frequency data in modern financial systems.

The Role

• Work on real-time, data-intensive systems using KDB+
• Partner with technical leads and stakeholders to define requirements
• Build and maintain tools and components to ingest, transform and surface data
• Collaborate closely with consultants, developers and delivery teams
• Provide insight, documentation and clean code across the SDLC

Key Experience

• 3+ years’ professional experience with KDB+ / q
• Strong STEM academic background (2:1 or higher preferred)
• Comfortable with data modelling, scripting and application development
• Logical problem-solver with an interest in scalable systems
• Solid understanding of agile principles and version control tools (e.g., Git)
• Great communicator with strong ownership of technical work

Bonus Points

• Exposure to financial services, especially capital markets
• Skills in Python or other programming languages
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Time-series database knowledge outside of KDB+
• Prior experience mentoring or leading junior developers
