As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions to support the firm’s objectives.

The Team and Product

The established agile teams are based in Bournemouth and India, managing a suite of environment management tools.

Job Responsibilities

1. Execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues, thinking beyond routine approaches to solve problems.
2. Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that synchronize with appropriate systems.
3. Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met through code development.
4. Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reports from large, diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems.
5. Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
6. Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore new and emerging technologies.
7. Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Minimum 4 years of development experience.
• Hands-on development experience using Java, Spring Boot, React, and SQL.
• Experience with core banking technologies such as Kubernetes (K8S).
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database querying languages.
• Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Knowledge of software applications and technical processes in disciplines such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile development.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
