The Role

This is a fully remote position. We currently have remote engineers in the UK, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

We’re looking for an experienced frontend engineer to join our engineering team. You’ll work with a highly technical and motivated team, reporting to a Tech Lead. The role involves applying engineering and mathematical skills to solve problems and overcome challenges, not just coding. This environment is intellectually stimulating for those with the right mindset.

The engineering team tackles challenging problems such as online payments, quoting, invoicing, booking, search/scoring algorithms, ETL, data pipelines, in-app messaging, real-time notifications, and fraud prevention. Our frontend stack includes TypeScript, JavaScript (ES2022), React, React Query, React Router, MaterialUI, GitHub Actions, and a service-oriented architecture. The broader tech stack features Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Redis, Celery, Pandas, Numpy, GitHub, Jenkins, Elasticsearch, and raw SQL for analytics. We emphasize clean, maintainable, and extendable code.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners, managers, UI designers, and engineers to define technical requirements and analyze solutions.
• Write well-structured, testable, and readable code using appropriate design patterns.
• Diagnose and resolve page load and performance issues.
• Debug and fix bugs across applications.
• Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Maintain and refactor existing code to improve features and performance.
• Create technical documentation for code, algorithms, and APIs.
• Assist in drafting end-user manuals.
• Identify and promote front-end best practices.

Skills

• Expertise in TypeScript or JavaScript (ES6) and styling libraries.
• Strong understanding of React and related patterns.
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
• Experience with front-end observability tools like Sentry, LogRocket, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Awareness of front-end security risks (XSS, CSRF).
• Passion for writing clean, modular, scalable, and reusable code.
• Creative problem-solving attitude.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Experience coaching junior and mid-level developers through code reviews and pair programming.
