As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

The Team and Product

The established agile teams based in Bournemouth and India run a suite of environment management tools.

Job responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technically, with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or analyze problems.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by the software.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reports from large, diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data proactively, using insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities and explore new technologies.
• Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• At least 4 years of development experience.
• Hands-on development experience using Java, Spring Boot, React, SQL.
• Experience with core bank technologies such as K8S.
• Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Knowledge of software applications and technical processes in disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
