Job summary

iO Associates is looking for a Software Engineer to join a collaborative Nottingham team. You’ll design, develop and deliver software across the full lifecycle for internal and external clients while growing your technical and commercial understanding.

You’ll work with Python, Linux and Bash, contribute to DevOps tasks, and operate in an Agile environment. Active SC clearance is highly preferred, with occasional travel to client sites and hybrid in-office attendance.

Qualifications

• Degree in software engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python, Linux and Bash skills.
• Eligibility for SC clearance (active preferred).
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Certifications or R&D project exposure beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and review software across the full lifecycle.
• Create and maintain design docs and training materials.
• Provide third-line support and mentor teammates.
• Translate client needs into technical requirements.
• Work in DevOps tasks using the company’s toolset.
• Move across projects to gain exposure to multiple revenue streams.
