Job summary

X-on Health in Melton is seeking a software engineer to join an agile team building backend APIs and customer-facing websites. You will directly shape innovative healthcare technology while collaborating across experience levels and across in-person and remote settings.

You will work with PHP (Laravel), React, MySQL, and tools like GitLab, RabbitMQ, Docker, and Puppet, with opportunities to learn Redis and Electron as part of the stack.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the product development lifecycle.
• Experience with modern PHP including Laravel.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks/libraries (React).
• Source control experience (GitLab).
• Experience with databases (MySQL).
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and OO principles.
• Experience with test frameworks.

Location: Melton, Woodbridge

Salary: Up to £43,000

You will join a collaborative agile team of software engineers and QA testers across all experience levels. Working on diverse projects from backend APIs to customer-facing websites, you will directly shape innovative technology solutions within primary healthcare.

Responsibilities:

• Work within an agile team to solve technical challenges and develop new functionality to our products and services
• Contribute towards translating business requirements into technical design and development projects and tasks
• Contribute in architectural and design discussions
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
• Identify and contribute towards developing solutions to improve system security, performance, scalability, and reliability
• Adhere to best software engineering practices and principles
• Collaborate with other members of the team through remote and in-person collaboration, work together with all stakeholders to understand and progress projects and tasks
