Software Engineer / Developer (Full Stack Java) London / WFH to £100k

Are you a Java technologist? You could be progressing your career in a hands‑on, impactful, Software Engineer role, working on a "tech for good" product that is helping to drive efficiencies for the NHS. The core product is a highly complex real‑time shift rota application hosted on AWS and available via the web or mobile device (iOS / Android).

As a Software Engineer you will play a crucial role in re‑architecting and enhancing the scheduling platform to a Java and Angular codebase (from Ruby and TypeScript). You’ll focus on designing and developing scalable backend Java services and REST APIs, building responsive front‑end work, and writing and optimising SQL database queries.

You’ll contribute to technical discussions and decision‑making as a senior member of a small team, influencing best practice and technology choices.

Location / WFH:

You’ll join colleagues in a London, City‑based office 3‑4 days a week, with some flexibility to work from home 1‑2 days.

About you:

You have strong Java backend software development skills including Spring Boot.
You have experience with relational databases and SQL query writing.
You have a strong understanding of REST APIs and real‑time systems.
You’re comfortable working with legacy Ruby.
