Job summary

Debenhams Group in Manchester is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the integrations team. You will work on a serverless, event-driven architecture handling millions of product records across our brands and partners.

You’ll write TypeScript in a microservices monorepo, build data pipelines with AWS services, and contribute to GraphQL APIs via AppSync. This role is office-based in Manchester, with a strong focus on CI/CD and IaC.

Qualifications

• Solid TypeScript / Node.js experience in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless services (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, S3, DynamoDB).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, using Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Comfort working in an event-driven, microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend serverless data pipelines using AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and Step Functions.
• Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs via AWS AppSync.
• Integrate with third-party e-commerce platforms and marketplace APIs.
• Manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS CDK.
• Write well-tested TypeScript across a microservices monorepo, with some Python.
