Job summary

Debenhams Group in Manchester is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join one of our software teams, building and maintaining internal applications powering warehouse, buying tools, customer service and finance systems. You’ll work across the stack: React on the front end, Node.js on the back end, deployed to AWS with event-driven patterns using SNS, SQS and EventBridge.

You’ll write clean, tested code and collaborate with product, team leads and other engineers to translate requirements

Qualifications

• 5+ years senior level full stack experience across front end and back end.
• Strong React (hooks, state) and Node.js, RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiar with AWS and CI/CD using GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, EventBridge).
• Demonstrates a quality-focused approach to clean, well-tested code.
• Excellent collaboration within an Agile/Scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal applications powering Debenhams Group.
• Design, write, test and deploy code across the full stack.
• Collaborate with Team Lead, Product and other engineers to translate requirements into working software.
• Investigate live environment issues and contribute to tooling improvements.
• Work from Manchester office 3 days per week.
