Job summary

Bauer Media Audio is building a new in‑house software development hub in Manchester to power our audio platform. As a Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to the next generation platform, collaborating with senior engineers to deliver scalable features and services across the stack.

You’ll work with product and technology peers, apply DevOps practices, write tests, and support onboarding. The role is hybrid with in‑office presence twice a week in Manchester, UK.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering experience with ability to work independently on features across client and server layers.
• Flexibility to move across front-end and back-end technologies as the product evolves.
• Experience with Node/TypeScript, React, Java, AWS; knowledge of microservices and cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features and services across the platform.
• Contribute to prototyping and early-stage feature work.
• Participate in code reviews and support junior engineers as the team grows.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams.
• Apply DevOps practices and contribute to CI/CD, automation, and observability.
• Write and maintain tests (unit, integration) and apply security best practices.
• Participate in incident management.
• Support recruitment and onboarding.
