Job summary

Harmonic, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to bridge AI research and product development. You will work with research scientists to transform discoveries into robust software for real-world use, focusing on scalable, reliable systems.

The role requires collaboration across product, design, and engineering teams, with a passion for AI and hands-on development in Python/C++. Prior experience with distributed systems and modern ML frameworks is a plus.

Qualifications

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of relevant industry experience.
Software development skills in Python or C++.
Experience scaling large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with code reviews, source control, builds, and testing.
Familiarity with AI concepts.
Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with AI research scientists to understand and implement state-of-the-art AI algorithms.
Develop and maintain software that incorporates AI technologies into practical applications and products.
Ensure the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of software systems.
Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, coding, testing, reviewing, deployment, and support.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
Stay updated with the latest trends in software engineering and AI technologies.
Support the development of a user-facing AI product.
Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products.
