Job summary

eTeam Workforce Limited in Manchester is seeking a Software Engineer for a 2-month initial contract, hybrid role requiring four days on-site weekly. You will develop enterprise applications using Java, Python, and Spring Boot, integrating AI/ML models, and building RESTful services, with CI/CD and cloud deployment support.

The ideal candidate has strong Java/Spring experience and familiarity with AI ecosystems, Vector databases, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java (8/11/17+).
• Hands-on development with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and Microservices.
• Strong expertise in Client Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Query Optimization, and Performance Tuning.
• REST APIs, JSON, and web services integration.
• Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes implementation.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer with expertise in Java, Python, Spring Boot, and Client Database, preferred AI ecosystem technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable enterprise applications while leveraging AI/ML technologies to drive innovation and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Python, and Spring Boot.

• Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.

• Develop database solutions using Client SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Performance Tuning.

• Integrate AI/ML models into business applications and workflows.

• Work with modern AI ecosystems including LLMs, Generative AI, RAG frameworks, LangChain, Vector Databases, and AI APIs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Ensure adherence to security, scalability, and software engineering best practices.

• Support application deployment through CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java (8/11/17+)

• Hands-on development experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and Microservices

• Strong expertise in Client Database, SQL, PL/SQL, Query Optimization, and Performance Tuning.

• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and web services integration.

• Hands-on knowledge of Git, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

AI Ecosystem Skills

• Experience in Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Knowledge of OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks.

• Experience with Vector Databases such as Pinecone, FAISS, ChromaDB, or Weaviate.

• Understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), AI Agents, and Model Integration.

• Experience with AI-powered application development and API integrations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP Cloud Platforms.

• Knowledge of Kafka, Event-Driven Architecture, and Messaging Systems.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.

• Exposure to Machine Learning frameworks and MLOps concepts
