Digi2al Limited is assembling a team to deliver engineering and technical support for its data fusion platform in London, UK. The role focuses on Python-based microservices, API development, and secure, edge-enabled deployments.

You'll work with Docker/Kubernetes at the tactical edge, integrate Palantir APIs/SDKs, and design resilient, disconnected architectures while aligning with MoD cyber security standards. Travel to client sites is expected, with 2–3 days on site and options across the UK.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python for microservices, API development (FastAPI/Flask), data processing, and backend service development.
• Deep knowledge of containerisation using Docker, multi-stage builds, minimal base images, and orchestration (Kubernetes/K3s) at the edge.
• Building integrations against Palantir APIs/SDKs, custom widgets/functions, and webhooks to extend core platform capabilities.
• Designing resilient software for Disconnected, Intermittent, Limited bandwidth environments with offline sync.
• Writing secure code adhering to MoD cyber security standards, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

We are building a team to support a new opportunity providing Engineering and Technical support for our data fusion platform. This team will drive the operational implementation of this low-TRL product, bridging the gap between tactical edge sensors in low-bandwidth environments and strategic HQs running enterprise analytics.

Requirements

Python Engineering: High proficiency in Python for microservices, API development (FastAPI/Flask), data processing, and backend service development.

Docker & Container Orchestration: Deep knowledge of containerisation using Docker, multi-stage builds, minimal base images (for bandwidth-constrained deployments), and orchestration (Kubernetes/K3s) at the tactical edge.

Palantir Platform Integration: Building integrations against Palantir APIs/SDKs, custom widgets/functions, and webhooks to extend core platform capabilities.

Disconnected / Edge Architectures: Designing resilient software for DIL (Disconnected, Intermittent, Limited bandwidth) environments, including store-and-forward mechanisms and offline sync.

CI/CD & Security Practices: Writing secure code adhering to MoD cyber security standards, automated testing, and building pipelines that package software into deployable Docker artifacts.

The Experience You'll Bring

Development & Tech: Python, Microservices, REST APIs, FastAPI, Flask, Asynchronous Programming, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Test-Driven Development (TDD).

DevOps & Deployment: Docker, Docker Compose, Multi-Stage Builds, Kubernetes, K3s, Edge Computing, CI/CD Pipelines, Store-and-Forward Architecture.

Start Date: ASAP

Security Requirements: Minimum clearance required is SC - due to the nature of the role and the security requirements the post holder must be a British Citizen

Days on Site: 2-3

Travel: The role would be ideally based in London but we are willing to consider applications from across the UK. There will be a requirement for travel to client sites
